—— ABOUT
Ancestral wisdom
meets contemporary practice
Born in Nigeria to Ghanaian parents of the Ewe tribe—with ancestral roots tracing back to the historic Dahomey Kingdom (present-day Benin)—Kafui carries forward deep indigenous lineages that inform both her spiritual authority and her approach to healing.
Raised in Amsterdam from the age of seven, she embodies a distinctly diasporic perspective, bridging African spiritual traditions with modern, embodied healing modalities. Based in Cape Town since 2010, Kafui facilitates curated healing experiences and retreats designed to support personal and collective transformation.
Her work centers people of color and prioritizes ancestral remembrance, embodied awareness, and reconnection to land, lineage, and spirit. Drawing from a multidisciplinary practice that integrates Ifa spiritual tradition, yoga, somatic healing, Family Constellations, and guided psychedelic work, Kafui creates intentional spaces for reflection, healing, and deep reconnection.
Her work speaks particularly to those navigating questions of identity, ancestry, and belonging within the global African diaspora—inviting participants to return to wisdom that has long existed within their own cultural inheritance.
Areas of Practice
Kafui offers a range of guided experiences and healing modalities, including:
- Ifa Spiritual Tradition
- Somatic Healing
- Family Constellations
- Yoga & Embodiment
- Psychedelic Integration
- Retreat Facilitation
Through these practices, she supports individuals and communities in reconnecting with ancestral wisdom, deepening self-awareness, and cultivating pathways toward healing and transformation.
—— DIASPORA DECANTED
Watch the
Conversation
As part of the inaugural episode of Diaspora Decanted, Kafui joins host Hakeem Kae-Kazim for a powerful conversation exploring ancestral memory, spiritual inheritance, and the pathways through which members of the African diaspora reconnect with indigenous wisdom traditions. This conversation explores themes of identity, cultural memory, spiritual sovereignty, and the healing traditions that have long existed across the African continent.
"Why many Africans in the diaspora feel the pull to return to ancestral practices."
